Pastoral Care

Cross

A Prayer for Healing
May this gift knit for you with love,
Be a mantle and sign of God’s healing presence.
May it warm you when you are weary.
May it surround you with ease in your suffering.
May it encircle you with caring when in pain.
May it comfort you when you feel alone.
May it remind you of God’s abiding love.
Amen.

Prayer Shawl Ministry
The St. Mary’s knitters have made many beautiful prayer shawls that are brought to our parishioner who may be at home, in hospital or nursing home. The shawls are knit with love and care in a 3 stitch seed pattern to represent the Trinity. Members of our Pastoral Care team deliver them to those in need, along with a card from the knitters and a prayer card (above). If you know of anyone who needs one of these comforting symbols of God’s presence and love, please contact Helen Hinckley at 508-362-9821

We coordinate with the Eucharistic Visitors bringing communion to shut-ins, help get transportation for parishioners who need a ride to church, make friendly visits to shut-ins at home, visit people in the hospital, nursing home, rehab center or other facility, and deliver food to parishioners. Parish Nurse visits to help with a medical issue or to help make an assessment of where to turn for help.  We receive parishioner prayer requests and concerns about others in need.
Our goal is to let every parishioner and their families know about the services we provide and that we can refer your needs to those who can help. We hope and pray that all will feel welcome bringing concerns to our team and we pray that we will continue to serve our parish faithfully in Jesus’ name.
If you have need of pastoral care in a time of personal crisis, please call our parish office, the Pastoral Care Coordinator Hilary Greene at 508-737-4542 or The Rev. Steve Smith at 508-304-3122. You may also fill out a card found in the pews to request something from our committee for you or someone else.
