EDUCATION AT SAINT MARY'S

Education is an important aspect of Christian Formation at Saint
Mary's. We offer education programs for people of all ages.
Church School for children through grade 5 meets at 9:45 am on
Sundays. The Church School uses the GODLY PLAY Curriculum for
children beginning at age four.
In the Godly Play classroom, the community of children is the
central focus. They are greeted individually by name and form a circle in
which to hear, think and learn. Through the use of hands on material,
Godly Play encourages children to enter into the stories of the Bible and
to relate those lessons to their own personal experience. Not only are we
communicating the most sacred of our stories to children, but together we
explore them in depth. Godly Play is currently used by many
denominations worldwide.
Youth Groups for Middle School and High School age young
people meet on Sunday evenings and use the Journey to Adulthood curriculum. Rite 13 (for youth in grades 6-7) and J2A (for youth in grades 8-10) meet on alternate Sundays. They strive to achieve a better
understanding of God's presence in their daily lives through fun,
friendship, service and prayer.
Adult Forums meet on the third Sunday of each month, immediately after the 10 am service. These
forums focus on a wide variety of topics such as the Nicene Creed,
Jewish Rituals, and Prayer, Millennium Development Goals. Other special offereings such as Advent and Lenten programs take place through out the church year.
